Welcome To Ffynnon PPD's Website

Welcome to our website. We hope you find these pages interesting and informative but most of all we hope you find the information that you are looking for.

Ffynnon PPD is an enterprise and registered charity that offers accessible and affordable events to people in the counselling, therapy, helping, care and pastoral professions.

At Present Ffynnon runs a day event programme for personal and professional growth and education (often referred to as CPD or Continuing Professional Development).

Ffynnon has also set up a regular forum for people to meet up, network and discuss topics of concern and to support each other.

As a rule these events are held at Glyndwr University in Wrexham which is on the North Wales border not far from Chester, Oswestry and Shrewsbury. The University has good facilities and is easily accessed by road and rail.

We have future plans and ideas that with funding and resources may in time come into being. These include a residential centre somewhere along the North/Mid Wales border. In the meantime we are looking at the idea of offering some small residential groups using local accommodation and facilities near to our home in the Tanat Valley.

At Ffynnon we have built up an excellent reputation through our previous events and we want to continue to offer and further develop our high quality, independent and thought provoking one day programme. We also want to truly achieve our goal of ensuring that all our services are not only accessible but that the prices including concessions are truly affordable to all who want to come.

In essence Ffynnon PPD wants to contribute to the quality of the helping and care services in Wales, its border counties and beyond in the hope that this will increase the public’s confidence in the resources on offer.  We believe that by us caring for and investing in those who care, better services can be offered to the public in the hope that this in turn will bring health and well being to people and their communities.

The vision for Ffynnon PPD is underpinned by our understanding of and commitment to the ethos of the person centred approach and our own personal experience of, and belief in Christian spirituality. Ffynnon seeks to draw people across the boundaries of beliefs and faiths, denominations and spiritual paths, in other words we welcome all people of goodwill.

“FFynnon is a very valuable resource in the delivery of continuing professional development training in North Wales. Their organisation is excellent, and there is a deep commitment to high quality training of professionals.” Mick Cooper DPhil CPsychol MBACP, Professor of Counselling School of Psychological Sciences and Health University of Strathclyde.
