Ffynnon PPD is an enterprise and registered charity that aims to offer affordable and accessible personal and professional development and retreat to counsellors, therapists, pastoral workers and people in the care professions.

We endeavour to offer personal and professional development - to people, delivered by people, from a variety of backgrounds and therapeutic approaches.

Ffynnon PPD wants to offer and develop high quality, independent and thought provoking services including conferences, seminars, workshops and groups that supplement and nourish a participant’s personal and professional life.

We believe that by offering a high quality service to people, providing essential opportunities for training and vital space for development we may have a positive influence on those people who really matter, the individuals, families and communities they come into contact with.

At Ffynnon PPD’s events we aim to bring up to date contributions from well established practitioners, seasoned scholars and speakers with a wide variety of experience. Topics from a range of expertise in theory and practise and relevant to current concerns and interests will be presented provoking reflection and challenge in the hope that this will bring vitality to the interpersonal world of the developing person.

We also have plans in process to create a residential centre in North Wales should the opportunity arise. This would be an intimate setting for in-depth personal and professional development, retreat and respite. In the meantime we are looking at the idea of offering some residential groups using available accommodation in the tranquil setting of the Tanat Valley.(To find out more about our vision for Ffynnon’s Centre please look at the vision/future plans page).

Ffynnon PPD wants to contribute to the quality of counselling, therapy, pastoral work and care in Wales, its bordering counties and the UK in the hope that this will increase the public’s confidence in and awareness of these services.  We believe that by caring for, and investing in those who care, a better service can be achieved, bringing health and well being to people and their communities.

Our hope is that Ffynnon will, in all its endeavours offer an environment for individuals and groups to constructively grow towards their full potential and that they will have an open, empowering and genuine experience; a time of individual fulfilment and group identity.

We believe that as active support is delivered to Ffynnon PPD as an enterprise and a charity, vision will be further realised and organisational development will mature. As a consequence Ffynnon will increase its capacity as a conduit that encourages networking, alliance and community; a sense of belonging that creates conditions for growth for all concerned. This developing foundation will continue to encourage and promote confidence and good practise for people and professionals in Wales, its border counties and beyond.

The vision for Ffynnon PPD is underpinned by our understanding of and commitment to the ethos of the person centred approach and our own personal experience of, and belief in Christian spirituality (for more about this please read the ‘about us’ page).  We aim to provide a safe and comfortable space with a climate of realness, genuineness, acceptance, empathy and of sensitive and accepting understanding; a place without prejudice or premature judgment. With all this in mind, Ffynnon seeks to draw people across the boundaries of beliefs and faiths, denominations and spiritual paths, in other words we welcome all people of goodwill.
